Early this evening, Tegan was moved from the NICU to the NSCU (neonatal special care unit). We were all very excited that she is doing so well. Michelle was thrilled to get to visit her in the NSCU for about 30 mins at 8:00pm. Here are some pics of a sweet baby girl and her proud mommy!

More Pictures!!!
Tegan Alexandria is HERE!!!
Tegan Alexandria arrived at 11:32am. We don't know her weight yet. But, she was breathing and crying. They took her to the NICU because she is very small, but Michelle did get to hold her before she left.
Big Change!

8:30am Update
Michelle was having semi-regular contractions (even though she couldn't feel them). The doctor decided that they would break her water, but they let her have the epidural first (at 8:02am). Her contractions started getting harder, but she still couldn't feel them. The doctor just came in an broke her water.

In the Hospital
Michelle wasn't feeling well tonight so Mom took her to the fire station to have her blood pressure checked. After getting a result of 184 over 122, they left (after signing a waiver saying that she was refusing the ambulance service to the hospital). Mom and Michelle drove to the hospital and got there around 9:00pm.
After some blood work and urine tests and blood pressure checks, it was decided around 12:20am that Tegan would be induced tonight (I guess Michelle is actually being induced). Anyway, Taylor and I joined Mom and Michelle around 1:15am. She was just finishing a concentrated dose of Magnesium and was feeling very sick.
It is now 2:30am and they just started the Pitocin. Michelle is doing good and we hope she can get some sleep before the contractions really start.

31 Weeks (and 2 days)
Tegan is doing great and all is well. Time is going by quickly and Tegan will be here before we know it! Check out the babycenter facts:
How your baby's growing:This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. She weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. She can turn her head from side to side, and her arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath her skin. She's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.
Belly pictures are coming soon!
Disclaimer: I (Krista) write all of the posts on this blog. I am receiving complaints about updating this blog irregularly (even from the blog owner - MICHELLE). LOL! I am having trouble keeping up with both blogs; so I decided we should have a vote . . . please write a comment and say who SHOULD be writing this blog . . . Krista . . . or Michelle. (Love you Shelly!)

25 Weeks
Tegan is now 25 weeks! She is moving and kicking like crazy, especially at night. We had an appointment at 24 weeks and she is doing GREAT! She even tried to kick the heartbeat monitor off of her. Aunt Krista got to feel her kick at the appointment and later that day, Aunt Kayla and Aunt Jennifer got to feel Tegan kicking.
Here is some babycenter info for 25 weeks.
How your baby's growing: Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.Friday, October 9, 2009
24 Weeks
Here is some info from BabyCenter.com about Tegan at 24 weeks.
How your baby's growing:Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts her at just over a pound. Since she's almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), she cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but her body is filling out proportionally and she'll soon start to plump up. Her brain is also growing quickly now, and her taste buds are continuing to develop. Her lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help her air sacs inflate once she hits the outside world. Her skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.
